The Cricket

On Wednesday the 28th of March 2018 the Saint Francis A cricket team went to Cobham to play the Cobham A team. I was a reserve and so was Sam T and Matthew H. We got to school, everyone in our team brought their gear and were ready. We still stayed at school for a bit and then at ten past ten we headed out. We got into the van and headed to play Cobham. Once we got there nearly the whole of Cobham was there. I started to get nervous because this was my first ever real game of cricket. Will was captain so he went to go and decide who was going to bat first or bowl. Will won the toss and he decided to bowl first. We all ran onto the field and Cobham got ready to bat. Will and Josh were going to be the first ones to bowl, it was about 20 minutes in and we got our first wicket because Trent caught him out. We all ran of to Trent to congratulate him, after that we all went out to the same spots as last time. 20 minutes later I put my hands out and caught the ball and they all ran over to me and they said "do you know who you just caught?" I said "no" and then they said "you caught out one of the best batsman in Canterbury for his year." After that I had to go off the field and let Matthew have a go at fielding so I came off and had something to dink and then went back to watching the game. Sam took my spot and caught two people out in a row. Then finely we got one more wicket and that was by Oliver. We bowled our last ball and then it was our turn to bat. Will and Oliver batted first and they both did really well. Will got out first and then so did Oliver. Josh and Taylor went in. They both did there very best but Josh got out and then Guy went in. Taylor was in for a long time and so was Guy but Guy got bowled out. It was now Jonte's turn to bat. Jonte smashed a few fouls but then got caught out and that was game because the 20 overs were done. Then we all got together and shook the other team's hands. After that we found out that we lost by 25 runs. We got back to school had a school cricket team photo and went home. Over all I had a great day at Cobham.

    What an exciting game Reuben I feel like I was actually there !! ☺
    No I never got the opportunity to play school cricket. But I did play tennis for my high school, once we played a boys school and guess what? I won my singles game! Ha ha

Teacher Conference

On the second week of term 2 some year 7 to 8 students got to go out to a teacher's conference this was called voice and choice. That is when some students go to a teacher's conference and speak about what goes on your school but the students say what goes on not the teachers. So me and Trent had to come up with a speech to say to the other teachers that were there. We all got a topic to speak about and a buddy to come up with what we presented ( mine was Trent ). There was a number of topics and our topic was science. This term we get to come up with our own science project and we get to go with a buddy. Mine is Logan and our project is "how does the shape of a paper plane's wings affect its travel distance?" This is mine and Trent's speech. My Recount

Do you now what the wahine disaster is about ? Well that's what I am going to share with you now it has been my recount and I know term 1 is over but but I still have't showed what I did so sit back and read away PS: I hope you like it and had a great holiday. The Wahine Story “Robertson Gordon”!!! I repeat “Robertson Gordon”!!! ‘The seas are getting really rough out there’, said the harbour master, you should  either turn back or risk it and  push on to Wellington”.  It was the 10th of April 1968 and the ferry was travelling from Christchurch to Wellington their were two storms raging and they were going to meet.  One storm was coming  from the North and one from the South Island.
