Week 8 Blog Post

Hello,
This Term our school has been focusing all about choosing kind. At the start of the year our hub watched a movie called Wonder which is all about choosing kind. I won't say anything about the movie in case you haven't watched it all I will say is that it is a great movie and that it has heaps of cool quotes in it like this ones:

  • When given the choice between being right or being kind, chose kind.
  • You can't blend in when you were born to stand out.
  • Strong people don't put people down. They lift them up.
About five weeks later we got to design a T-shirt which was all about choosing kind. I thought it would be really cool to do it as a google drawing. I hope from reading this you have learned heaps about choosing kind.

Teacher Conference

On the second week of term 2 some year 7 to 8 students got to go out to a teacher's conference this was called voice and choice. That is when some students go to a teacher's conference and speak about what goes on your school but the students say what goes on not the teachers. So me and Trent had to come up with a speech to say to the other teachers that were there. We all got a topic to speak about and a buddy to come up with what we presented ( mine was Trent ). There was a number of topics and our topic was science. This term we get to come up with our own science project and we get to go with a buddy. Mine is Logan and our project is "how does the shape of a paper plane's wings affect its travel distance?" This is mine and Trent's speech. My Recount

Do you now what the wahine disaster is about ? Well that's what I am going to share with you now it has been my recount and I know term 1 is over but but I still have't showed what I did so sit back and read away PS: I hope you like it and had a great holiday. The Wahine Story “Robertson Gordon”!!! I repeat “Robertson Gordon”!!! ‘The seas are getting really rough out there’, said the harbour master, you should  either turn back or risk it and  push on to Wellington”.  It was the 10th of April 1968 and the ferry was travelling from Christchurch to Wellington their were two storms raging and they were going to meet.  One storm was coming  from the North and one from the South Island. Robertson Gordon ( Captain/me  ) said “thanks but we will risk it.” I knew I should had pulled the boat around but I chose not to.
