Free choice blog

Last Friday our hub got a task to do and that task was to create a biography about someone that has greatness. I hope you enjoy it and get a lot of facts about my biography. LeBron James Biography LeBron Raymone James ( also known as King James ). LeBron was born on the 30th of December 1984 in USA, Akron, Ohio the same place that another star was born Stephen Curry. But this isn’t a biography of Stephen this is about LeBron James.  Where did LeBron grow up and go to school ? LeBron grew up in Akron where he had a difficult childhood his dad ( Anthony McClellan ) had been to prison so he wasn’t around when LeBron grew up. His mums name was Gloria James. His family were also poor and this meant that he had tough time and struggled a lot. But his basketball coach, Frankie Walker, took LeBron under his wing and let him stay with his family where he could  then focus on his basketball and school grades. LeBron went to high school at St Vincent - St Mary high school in Akr...

Image
Hello again, Last week on Friday the 15th of February 2019 the Kaupeka hub our school did our swimming sports at Jellie park. Everyone has to compete in at least two or more advents. I did the 50m Freestyle which I came 2nd in. It was then the 50m backstroke that I got 4th in. It was then my favourite advent 50m breaststroke and I got 3rd but I might go to zones and finally the house relay. My house colour is red and our house got 3rd. Overall I am really happy with what I got because this will be my 4th year going to zones. Have you done swimming sports before if so did you enjoy it ?

Week three blog post

Last week the Kaupeka hub had to use a flip grid. Flip grid is when you make a video and other people can see it. This is my speech that I said on the flip grid What Is Greatness Greatness I think Greatness is in everyone but this one man caught my eye and if you are interested in basketball or in sport well I have got the person for you And that person name is Lebron James he has Three NBA Championships. Four Most Valuable Player Awards. Three Finals MVP Awards and finally two Olympic Gold Medals and if you think that's not amazing I don’t know what is. How does he achieve this ? Well firstly he does a lot of hard work like going to the gym or just simply shooting some hoops or just practising his ball skills. Lebron knows he can’t win a game by himself. Teams need great  leaders and he is one of those, he can inspire and motivate his team mates to play their best game. What every team Lebron plays for he always leads from the front scoring the highest number of points. The...

Last term I was selected to play for Touch Canterbury in two tournaments one was in Nelson and one was in Christchurch, and last week we went to Nelson it was such a long trip and when I got there me and my dad were an 5 hours early so we went down to the bar and played some pool and I won. After the bar we went back to the camp and by that time I was allowed to get in my cabin. I had Saul, Tyrone and Harrison, after everyone arrived we went to the park that we were playing on and made Touch Canterbury with our body, it look really cool. When we got back we had dinner, that night it was burgers. But after dinner we had to go to bed our cabin was up till 10:30 at night. In the morning we had breakfast and then set off to have a quick warm up at the grounds. There was a lot of teams there some from the West Coast and Nelson. Our first game was again's Marlborough I scored 2 tries and our team won 8 - 2. After Marlborough it was Nelson and we lose 8 - 0 which was sad. But even more sa...

Week 7 Memoir

Hello, For the past 2 weeks we have been working on an end of year memoir. For me this year it has been a pretty good year for cross country and I can't wait for 2019. I hope you enjoy reading my memoir please leave a comment. My Memoir It all began when I first started school in march 2012, this means I had only had 1 month of school before the school cross country race. Bang, the gun went 25 five year olds ran around the backpaddick twice. I could hear my mum and dad cheering for me, then what do you know I was in front and I could see the finish line in front of me as my mouth got dry and my legs felt like jelly I had won the race. It gave me a feeling that I was good at something and a sense of victory. Cross country running has been something I am really passionate about and good at. I have won my age group school cross country for the last 7 years. It is weird that Mum and Dad are not long distance runners but my great granddad was. So maybe I get distance running...

Empty Boots Writing

Hello, For the past 3 or 4 weeks of term we have been working on some creative writing. It has been really fun to write. I hope you enjoy because I now I did. Empty Boots All was silent, as I walked through the forest back to my house,  not a breath of wind could be felt or heard. Suddenly I heard something rustling in the leaves so I went over to investigate it was two pairs of black leather boots with colored laces tired at the top. I was just about to take the boots but they moved and took one step away from me and then another it turned into a jog, I started to chase it but it was too fast. We were running for quite a while until the boots stopped in the sunlight I could see the body shape of a person out and then it turned around and looked at me. I was so scare my legs turned to jelly and I started to run the boots started to chase me. I finally got out of the forest but my house was still 400m away I grabbed my bike and rode off. Eventually I got back to my house an...

Couching Touch

Hello, Yesterday Finn, Max and I couched the year 5 and 6 copperheads. We got there a little late and we were getting beaten by a good team. At half time it was about 10 - 0 but with I quick pep talk we were scoring and the final score was I think 6 - 15. I think we did really well and now it was the hard part choosing the player of the day but we gave it to Nelia Penrose for running strait lines. Have you coach touch before ?
